Hi, I'm Kathy Bingaman, of Bingaman Design. I create imaginative polymer art from my Three Rivers, Michigan studio. As a scavenger, I enjoy finding objects on the beach to add to my artwork. I also collect beautiful sea glass, corals, and assorted oddities to combine with my polymer to make one-of-kind jewelry pieces. As a lover of antiquities, many of my creations appear to be ancient artifacts. The look of old metal is replicated in my polymer bezels. Unexpected faces, and those clay eyes, are always favorites!
Along with teaching local art classes for many years, I'm also a member of the Three Rivers Artists Guild, The Great Lakes Beadworkers Guild, and the Metro Detroit Polymer Clay Guild. Some of my pieces can be seen at Wildchild Art Gallery in Matlacha, Florida, Gingerbread Square Gallery in Key West, Florida, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts gift shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Amber Myst in Three Rivers, Michigan.
My husband and I love antiquities, warm weather, and travel. One of my dreams is to teach about ancient cultures by recreating their styles of beads and jewelry in polymer clay, perhaps while on a ship touring those regions. Until then, I'm happy creating in our home, In my upstairs studio with the horizon line and the warm beach painted on the walls around me!
